Summer is a time for fun with friends and family, but it shouldn’t be a time where learning stops.
On average, students lose nearly half of their school-year learning during the summer months.365体育竞猜 Our students deserve our best efforts to give them the instruction they need to prevent summer learning loss. Our Summer Academy is a program that brings all TPS faculty and staff together for a single goal: ensuring students are prepared for success on day one of the next school year.
The program runs from Monday, June 22, 2020 to Thursday, July 16, 2020.
365体育竞猜Students in grades K-5 (entering 1-6 graders) will begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. YMCA GO will be offered at all elementary sites from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m
Students in grades 6-12 (entering 7-12 graders ) will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 1:30 p.m. Afternoon enrichment will begin at 1:30 p.m. and end at 4:30 p.m.
Breakfast and lunch will be served through Summer Cafe! Dinner will also be provided in partnership with the Food Bank for those in afternoon enrichment.
At each of the eight school sites across Tulsa Public Schools, summer enrichment programs run by community partner organizations provide fun activities during the afternoon. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this critical opportunity to help your child begin the new school year prepared for academic success.

Your child was enrolled in Summer Learning Academy based on his or her MAP test scores, grades in core classes, and/or their progress toward high school graduation. By participating in Summer Learning Academy , your child will have an opportunity to catch up on their learning and earn the credits that they need to stay on track for academic success.

365体育竞猜Our Summer Academy teachers and school leaders will have access to information about the specific needs of each student before the first day of classes. Students who currently receive additional supports or have IEPs, their circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine if they require placement at one of our summer Extended School Year (ESY) programs. We will contact those families directly with information about placement for their children.
YMCA Summer GO
YMCA Summer GO is an extracurricular program for children in summer school. They offer classes in nutrition, STEM, literacy, and movement.
365体育竞猜By providing summer school children with a safe place to learn and grow during the summer, the YMCA helps reduce lost summer learning while encouraging students to keep having fun.
365体育竞猜This year, YMCA GO will be offered at all Summer Learning Academy elementary school sites from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

2020 Tulsa Debate League Summer Camp
365体育竞猜At Tulsa Debate League summer debate camp students will learn the fundamentals of public speaking and argumentation, enabling them to develop core presentation and debating skills that boost confidence and self-esteem. Students at the Summer Debate Camp will work on effective public speaking and argumentation, allowing them to further advance their presentation and debate skills to prepare them for the real world. The camp offers students the chance to improve their communication skills in a safe, diverse and nurturing environment while having fun! Our camp features experienced coaches who will support genuine skillset development.
Summer Debate begins on June 29, 2020 and ends on July 17, 2020. It is free for Tulsa Public School students and is open to rising 7th graders through 12th graders can attend.
Bus transportation is provided.

Our summer camp program provides opportunities for your child to learn, grow, and make new friends in a safe and positive setting.
